!-->!--> Hi everyone! Again, good to be back! As you know from my last post, we put an offer in on a unit, but had some concerns. Well, guess what? After MONTHS of searching again, I found EXACTLY what I want at a dealer (www.primevehicletraders.com) very close to us! A 2004 Gulfstream Yellowstone 30FSK! I'm so excited!
My question is, I want a fireplace put in it. Sure, the dealership can do it, but Prime Vehicle Traders feels he can do it. Just an electric plug in. For all of you that have added a fireplace, where did you get it and about how much was it? Was it hard to put in! Thanks! Jeri
!-->!--> Yes, that is the ONLY thing that is missing. I fell in love with the GS Prairie Schooner and it did have the fireplace, but had some concerns about a crack (see post a couple months ago). Now, after searching for months, I found EXACTLY the same thing, only minus the fireplace that the PS had. Make more sense now?
!-->!--> I have a fireplace in my current rig, that fits and works well. However I have seen a few freestanding fireplaces and fake wood stove that would be easy to install and fit the bill.
If Prime Vehicle Traders is handy it would not be too hard to do.
The best part is it would be a lot cheaper than a factory installed unit.

!-->!--> But where would I get the insert? The Prime Vehicle Traders measured and we have the dimensions. Very little carpentry work. Prime Vehicle Traders price is $700 installed with carpentry work. Does this sound reasonable?
!-->!--> Before we bought our current unit, I would've said that having a fireplace is crazy. Now that we have one, we would not have another rig without it. Very nice to have for heat without having to run the propane. Ours came in our unit. Ooops, now you're going to want a Bighorn!

!-->!--> I can;t remember the exact company we used, just googled electric fireplace insert and a bijillion sites came up. Check out amazon as well. My husband just measured the size that would fit and the job was easy. The finish work around the insert (mouldings etc) took the most time. Works great when it is a bit chilly inside the camper and you don't want to put the furnace on.
!-->!--> I know it must be the whole looking at a fireplace thing but isnt it much easier and simpler to use a free standing 50 dollar electric heater? Does the same thing..I mean lets be real, its a fake electric fireplace.Jmo but Just seems crazy to spend that much money just to have it look like a fireplace. If It came with the unit thats one thing but to put one in after the fact seems overkill for the actual purpose. But good luck anyways with the new fiver.
